1. ACTIVITY a. What can you say about the picture?
b. What dances are you familiar with?

2. ANALYSIS -Let the learner listen to a music and let them identify it’s time signature.

3. ABSTRACTION
-Discussing folk dance and basic fundamental positions of arms and feet.

 FOLK DANCE
Notation: Application of Numeracy -Refers to the dances created and performed collectively by the
ordinary people. The term usually includes ethnic dances and may also
divided into the “regional” which refers to dances particular to one
locate or area and the “national” which refers to those performed all
over the country.

 DANCES
-Use movements of the head, waist , arms, feet throwing circling,
swooping, offering and crowning.
-Discussing the fundamental positions of arms and feet and will be
followed by warm-up
- Clustering the class into two and will be executing the fundamental dance
steps in fold dancing by the following directions.

3. Execute the fundamental positions of feet without music by


following instructions given by the teacher. Count 1, 2, 3 to every
position.

1st position – Heels together, toes apart with an angle of 45


degrees.
2nd position – Astride sideward of about pace or 1 foot distance.
3rd position – Heel of one foot to the in-step of other foot.
4th position – One foot in front of the other about a pace distance.
5th position – Heel of the front foot close to the big toe of the rear
foot.

1 position – Encircle both arms in front of chest with the
finger tips about an inch apart.
2nd position – Both arms raised sideward with a graceful curve.
3rd position – One arm raised sideward to the other overhead.
4th position – On arm in a half circle in front, other arms raised
overhead.
5th position – Both hands raised overhead.

This time, execute the following steps with music in 3 4 time signature. Do this
with your team

2. DEMONSTRATION

-Ask the following questions to the learners.

a. How would you define dance?


b. What do you think are the benefits that can be
learned from dancing?
c. Would you consider participating in a dance
competition? Why?
