A SEMINAR INTRODUCTION ON
DUOLEVER SUSPENSION SYSTEM
IN MOTORCYCLE

PRESENTED BY, GUIDED BY,

SHEJWAL ROSHAN MANOHAR PROF. WAGH SIR
TE-A (62)
INTRODUCTION

 Suspension - the main part of the vehicle.

 Current system- telescopic fork
 Problems with current system
 Proposal system Duolever suspension system
 BMW’s Duolever suspension system
 Advantages
CURRENT SYSTEM

 In the existing system the

telescopic fork is used.

 The reason behind using

the telescopic fork is that
it is simple in design.

 Most commonly used in

INDIAN two wheelers.
PROBLEMS IN TELESCOPIC
FORK SUSPENSION
 Uneven vibrations.
 Wheelbase is changed maximum during working .
PROBLEMS IN TELESCOPIC
FORK

3. Less consistent
provided while
handling and
braking.

4. Uneven compression
of shock absorbers
(Turning).
PROPOSAL SYSTEM
DUOLEVER SUSPENSION SYSTEM.

 Single shock
absorber.

 Two swing arms

( wishbones)

 Hossack / Firor
steering fork
BMW’S DUOLEVER SUSPENSION
SYSTEM

 ELECTRONICALLY Adjustable suspension.

 The swing arm are hinged to the frame of the vehicle.
BMW’S DUOLEVER SUSPENSION
SYSTEM

 Uses mass centralization concept.

 New modification in TELEAVER

(BMW’S existing system)

 Separate the suspension and wheel

control system.

TELELEVER
ADVANTAGES
over telescopic fork suspension
ADVANTAGES

 More consistent handling and braking.

 They are easier to adjust, and no worry about matching two

shocks.

 Rising rate of damping for the rear vehicle shock

 Improves both the ride and handling.
