What is Irrigation?

SURFACE IRRIGATION
Water is

by gravity
FURROW IRRIGATION
Is conducted by
creating small parallel
channels along the
field length.
DRIP IRRIGATION
A type of localized
irrigation in which drops of
water are delivered at or
near the root of plants.
Sprinkler irrigation
Is similar to natural
rainfall.
SUB-IRRIGATION
Water is distributed
across land by raising
the water table,
Drainage is employed
in the reclamation of
wetlands, in the
prevention of erosion
