Grouped Data
is a data that has been bundled together in categories.

Deciles of Grouped Data

is any of the nine values that divide the sorted data into
ten equal parts, so that each part represents 1/10 of the sample
or population.
A decile is one possible form of a quartile
Dk = unknown decile
k = has the value of 1, 2, 3,4, 5, 6, 7,
8, 9.
LB = lower class boundary
N = the total frequency of data set.
cfb = is the cumulative frequency of
the class before the given decile.
fdk = is the frequency of the decile
class.
i = is the class interval UB - LB
The following table
contains the
frequency distribution
of the scores of Ruby
in a 50-item quiz.
Calculate the fourth
(D4) and sixth (D6) of
given data set. If the
passing score is 60%
and above, how many
students passed the
quiz.
Seatwork
Complete the table and write the given
needed to solve the problem.
Calculate the 7th decile of the Consultant Fees and
what does it mean. Round off the resulting value to
the nearest whole number.

Given:
Answer:
D7 = 7(120) ÷10
D7 = 84
LB = 5,199.5
Cfb = 60
fdk = 36
i = 1,200
D7 = 5,199.5 +[84-60]1200
36
D7 = 5,999.5
D7 is equal to 70%, therefore,
70% of the consultant has a
consultation fee of less than or
equal to 5,999.50 pesos.
