THE EFFECTIVENESS OF

TAINGANG DAGA (Oxalis

corniculata L .) AS LIQUID
DETERGENT IN REMOVING
STAINS IN WHITE CLOTHING
RATONALE
■ Stains are stubborn issues of laundry. It is known to be one of the cause’s difficulty in
washing clothes. It causes discoloration, sticks to the fabric and slowly destroys the
clothes making it a dilemma for some people who want neat clothes.

■ The researchers thought of a way in producing liquid detergent that is without harming
the surroundings and the person who uses it. So the researchers conduct a study that
will determine the effectiveness of Creeping Wood Sorrel (Oxalis corniculata) leaf extract
as liquid detergent in removing food stains in clothes.

■ Creeping Wood Sorrel (Oxalis corniculata) leaf extract which is very abundant in our
country. This plants that grow in tropical lands. Creeping Wood Sorrel are easy to
cultivate and in fact, here in the Philippines, you can see this plants growing everywhere
in vacant lots. Creeping Wood Sorrel (Oxalis corniculata) has an Oxalic acid component
making the leaves has a sour taste.
OBJECTIVE

■ The main objective of the study is to determine the effectiveness of Creeping

Woodsorrel as leaf extract as Liquid Detergent in removing stain in white clothing.
SPECIFIC OBEJCTIVES

■ To know if Oxalic acid in Creeping Woodsorrel is really effective in removing stain in white
clothing.
■ To study if there is an effect of the concentration of Creeping Wood Sorrel (Oxalis
corniculata) leaf extract in removing the following stains on white clothing using the
Likert scale
■ Chocolate stains
■ Coffee stains
■ Ink stains
■ Mud stains
■ To determine what treatments of Creeping Woodsorrel leaf extract is more effective in
removing stains in white clothing.

Experimental Design and Statistical
Treatment of Data
 This experimental research used in the experimental is descriptive design in order to
determine the acceptability of Creeping Woodsorrel leaf extract in terms of its effectiveness.

 One-way ANOVA was used to determine if there were differences between and among samples on
the stain removed
Research Utilization and Dissemination

■ The study will be presented at Bacarra National Comprehensive High School as a

project on Practical Research II.
