Definition

Ellipse – is a regular curve that is traced

by a point moving in a plane so that the
sum of its distances from two fixed points
(called foci) is constant.
If you were to become an engineer or
an architect in the future, how would
you prefer to use the ellipse in your
line of work? Elaborate your answer.

Once upon a time, a pirate realized he
has way too much treasure and decided to
give some away. Each of your group was given
one chest. However, the treasure chests he
gave were all locked. The pirate was obsessed
with ellipses, so he put special locks which can
only be opened with a special password.
The pirate has provided you with General
Equations of ellipses. You have to solve for its
Standard Form and locate the center, vertices,
co-vertices, and foci of your ellipse. Then, refer
to the provided Cartesian Coordinate System
to find the letters to your password. After
unscrambling your letters, present it to the
pirate and receive your treasure!
