Health Related Fitness
 Health related fitness are a basis from which to measure our
general wellbeing. It is the aim of exercise to improve our
capabilities in each of these areas. Different sports will be more
demanding in some, and less demanding in others, but athletes
usually strive to achieve a reasonable level of health fitness in
each area.
Body Composition
• the relative percentage of body fat to lean body
tissue.
Flexibility
• Refers to the ability of the joints to move
through full range of motion.

Cardiovascular Endurance
• the ability of the heart, lungs and blood vessels to deliver
oxygen to working muscles and tissues, as well as the
ability of those muscles and tissues to utilize oxygen.
Endurance may refer to the ability of the muscles to do
repeated work without being fatigue.

Strength
• is the amount of force you can put forth with
your muscles. It is often measured by how
much weight you can lift.

• is the ability to use the muscles, which are
attached to the bones, many times without
getting tired.

• Skill or performance related fitness involves skills that
will enhance one’s performance in athletic or sport
events.
Speed
• the ability to perform a movement or cover a distance
in a short period of time.

• The ability to transfer energy into
force at a fast rate.

Agility
• Is the ability to change direction quickly
using a combination of balance,
coordination, speed, strength, and
endurance.

Reaction Time
• The ability to react or respond quickly.
Stick Drop Test
Coordination
• The ability to use the senses to determine
and direct the movement of your limbs and
head.
Paper Juggling
Balance
• The ability to control or stabilize the
body while standing or moving.
