WHAT IS ABBREVIATION?
 Abbreviation is a shortened form of a written word or
phrase. Abbreviations may be used to save space and
time, to avoid repetition of long words and phrases, or
simply to conform to conventional usage.
Eg:
"Amt" is an abbreviation for “amount”.
 "USA" is an abbreviation of “United
States of America”.
WHAT IS ACRONYM?
 Acronyms is abbreviations formed from the initial letters of
an expanded phrase and usually do not include periods:
 PR for public relations,

 BTW for by the way.

is a government agency in the United States that investigates crimes in which


a national law is broken or in which the country's security is threatened.
 CIA: Central Intelligence Agency.
 FIFA: Fédération Internationale de Football Association.
In English, the translation is: International Federation of
Association Football.
It is an organisation that
is very well known around
the world as it is the
governing body of football,
beach soccer and futsal and
has more than 200 member
countries from different
parts of the world. It is in
charge of organising and
advertising many
international tournaments
such as the World Cup and
