effect on an individual who is deprived of it.

interaction;

This is the type of relationship which is closely
associated with a person and which can only have a
meaning to this person.
Involves a degree of commitment to another person or
persons.

How attachment
developed?
Three attachment styles;

As defined by Ainsworth, Blekar, Waters and Wall (1978), these are:

1. Secure attachment.
2. Avoidant attachment.
3. Anxious – Ambivalent attachment.
1. Secure Attachment:
Primary caregiver is always present and available most
of the time.

CHILD WILL GROW UP TO HAVE

2. Avoidant Attachment

Primary caregiver is cold and detached.

CHILD MAY DEVELOP A SENSE OF


REJECTION.
3. Anxious Ambivalent Attachment

Primary caregiver is not consistent in terms of presence


and meeting child’s emotional needs.

What drives
attraction?
When attraction drives between two person, it is often
understood as based on physical appearance. While
this might be true to a certain extent, there is more to
attraction than what we already know.
Three Stages of Falling in Love:
Lust

Driven by the sex hormones, testosterone and


estrogen. These hormones affect both sexes.

It is when they continue with the relationship, they
enter the attachment stage and long-lasting
commitments are exchanged

Love is a feeling of deep affection, passion
or strong liking for a person or thing.
