Role of Muscles in Muscular System
The muscular system is made up of muscles.
Muscles are the fibrous tissues in a human body that have
the ability to contract and relax, producing movement and
maintaining the body posture.
Muscles allow us to move, speak, chew, regulate body
temperature etc.
Types of Muscle Tissues
Humans have three different types of muscle tissues:
o Skeletal Muscles
o Smooth Muscles
o Cardiac Muscles

1. Mobility:
The muscular system's main function is to allow
movement. When muscles contract, they contribute to
movement:

• walking
• running
• swimming
• writing
• speaking
• facial expressions
• Weight Carriage
