Position analysis
When analysing a position, you must consider:
 future direction and resources of organisation
 resources needed to achieve objectives and targets
 overall staffing needs
 role changes and developments
 knowledge, skills, attributes, and competencies
 alternative options to filling the position
 budget constraints.

Effective advertising
The best ads:
 grab the reader’s attention
 accurately describe criteria, functions, etc
 are written in plain English
 comply with equal employment opportunity (EEO)
and anti-discrimination laws
