FBM code is 3 digit number in which

First digit represents Total vertical load

Next two digit represent bending
movement in hundreds

As per RDSO DRG NO ETI/OHE/G/0153 FOR 72

MTR span & tangent track FBM code is 125
After FBM code has been calculated & if soil
type & foundation type are known , dimensions
can be derived from RDSO DRG NO
TI/DRG/CIV/FND/RDSO/00001/04/0

As in the calculation FBM code is 125, let soil

pressure is 11000 kg/m2 & type of foundation is
side bearing, dimensions of foundation are
a= 0.7 mtr
b= 1.0 mtr
H= 1.8 mtr
Volume of concrete = 0.7 X 1.0 X 1.8 = 1.26 m3
Wt of concrete block =1.26 X 2300 = 2900 Kgs
As in the calculation FBM code is 125, let soil
pressure is 11000 kg/m2 & type of foundation is
side bearing, dimensions of foundation are
a= 0.7 mtr
b= 1.0 mtr
H= 1.8 mtr
Vertical load (W) from mast = 593.25 kgs
Hence
Total load N =2900 + 593.25 = 3493.25 Kgs
BM at a point midway between level of
consolidated soil & bottom of Fdn Block
= M = X [ A + (H-h/2)]
= 207 [ 6.75 + (1.8-1.5/2)]
= 207[6.75 + 1.05]
= 207[7.8]
= 1614.6 kgm

Z = N(h3 + a3) + a

Z = N(h3 + a3) + a
12 Ma 2
3491(1.53+0.73) + 0.7 = 3491X3.718 + 0.35
= 12 X 1614.6 X 0.7 2 13562.64
= 0.957+ 0.35 = 1.307 m

P1 =Nh/ab(2Z-a) + X/bh
= 3491 X 1.5/ 0.7 X 1X( 2X1.307-0.7) + 207/1X1.5
= 5239.5/0.7X1.914 + 138
=3908.41 + 138

P1 = 4046.42 Kgf/m2
P2 =Nh/ab(2Z-a) - X/bh

=3908.41 - 138

P2 = 3770.41 Kgf/m2
P3 =2NZ/ab(2Z-a)
= 2 X 3491 X 1.307/ 0.7 X 1X( 2X1.307-0.7)
= 9125.47/0.7X1.914

P3 = 6811.07 Kgf/m2
Science
P1 = 4046.42 Kgf/m2
P2 = 3770.41 Kgf/m2

P3 = 6811.07 Kgf/m2

All are lesser than soil bearing

capacity i.e , hence 11000kg/m2
Foundation is safe
