HISTORY
 THE HISTORY OF THIS POLICE FORCE STARTS IN 1580 AND
IS DIVIDED IN THREE STAGES:

 THE FIRST STAGE: ( First 300 hundred years – 1880 )


POLICIA DE BUENOS AIRES (BUENOS AIRES POLICE)

 THE SECOND STAGE: ( 1880 – 1943) POLICIA DE LA


CAPITAL (POLICE OF THE CAPITAL)

 THE THIRD STAGE : (since 1943) PFA (POLICIA FEDERAL


ARGENTINA) this is the national civil police force. It has
been detach throughout the country.

 DIVISION OF LAW ENFORCEMENT:
The police forces in Argentina maintain internal
security by law. Two specific types of police
functions are listed below:

 SECURITY POLICE : The services are related to


public order and safety, crime prevention and
control, criminal control and protective
administrative activities.

 JUDICIARY POLICE: Strict policing activities


performed under supervision and related to
criminal investigations.
The Interior Security System consists of the following
individuals, agencies and its dependencies :

A. President of Argentina
B. Governors and Police agencies of the Argentine
provinces
C. Argentine National Congress
D. Ministries of Interior, Defense, and Justice
E. Policia Federal Argentina (PFA)
F. Gendarmeria Nacional Argentina (GNA)
G. Perfectura, Naval Argentina (PNA)
