QUESTION 1:-
What is meant by research? Explain the “Correlational method”?
Answer:-
Psychological research refers to research that psychologists conduct for systematic study and for
analysis of the experiences and behaviours of individuals or groups.

Research:-
It is defined as the creation of new knowledge or the use of existing knowledge in a new and
creative way so as to generate new concepts and understandings.
It is the process of collecting , analyzing and interpreting information to answer questions .
Process:-
The basic process of conducting research involves asking a question , designing a study, collecting
data, analyzing results and sharing the finding.

Types:-
• There are two main types of research
1. Qualitative research
CORRELATIONAL RESEARCH
• It is a type of nonexperimental research in which the researcher measures two variables and assesses
the statistical relationship between them with little or no effort to control extraneous variables.
• In other words, the relationships between two or more variables exists, but the variables themselves
are not under the control of the researchers.

types:
There are three main types of correlational method.

1. Natural observation
2. Survey research
3. Archival research
• NATURAL OBSERVATION:
It is a correlational research that involve observing people’s behaviours as shown in the natural
environment where they exist, over a period of time.
• SURVEY METHOD:
It is the most common method of correlational research. It involves random sampling of the
variables or the subjectives in the research in which participants fill a questionnaire centered on the
subjects of interest.

• ARCHIVEL RESEARCH:
It is the method of collecting data from sources that already exist. It is the type of primary research
which involves seeking out and extracting evidence from original archival records.
QUESTION 2:

Write a note on structure of neuron?

Answer:
NEURON:

Neuron in Bio-Psychology:
Neurons are specialized cells that transmit chemical and electrical signals in the brain,
sensory neurons are neurons for converting external stimuli from the environmental into
corresponding internal stimuli.
Structure of a neuron:

In addition to having all the normal components of a cell. Neuron also contain unique
Nervous system cells are called neurons. They have three distinct parts , including a cell body, axon and dendrides .
These parts help them to send and receive chemical and electrical signals. Neuron can pass a signal all the way from
their own dendrites to their own axon terminals , but at a higher level neurons are organized in long chains
.Allowing them to pass signals very quickly from one to the other.
Types:
There are three major types of neurons:
• Sensory neurons
• Motor neurons
• Interneurons
All three have different functions, but the brain needs all of them to communicate effectively with the rest of the
body.
QUESTION 3:
Write a note on principles of perceptions?
Answer:
Perception:

Perceptual process:
Principle of perception:
These principle are organized into five categories:
• Proximity
• Similarity
• Continuity
• Closure
• Connectedness

Proximity
Proximity states that humans perceive stimuli that are close to each other by grouping them and recognizing them as
part of the same object.

Similarity
It is one of the central problems of psychology….it is a relationship that holds between two perceptual or conceptual
objects.

Continuity
Continuity refers to our tendency to see patterns and therefore perceive things as belonging together if they form some
type of continuous pattern.
Closure

Closure ( a term used in Gestalt psychology) is the illusion of seeing an incomplete

stimuli as though it were whole.

Connectedness
It is a sensation and perception of uniform or linked spots, lines, or areas as a
single unit. When these forms are linked together or uniform, they simply appear
to form a single unit and seem to go together.
