● Only time this really happens is when all teams have to come together. We hire
based on the best candidate not the color of their skin or gender.
● With the intern groups, we make sure that they have both males and females

● No Particular Focus on Millenials Balance
● Difficult to Maintain a work life balance while in season.
○ Most employees work a normal 9am-5pm,

○ Game days, they need to stay or even to travel to all away games

Athletic Training Speaker Situation:
● This particular Human Resources
Personnel did not hire for this position
in the company
● Still no female athletic trainers have

the hiring of athletic trainers but was
unsuccessful
“Hockey is for Everyone” Night:
● February 21, 2019
● Celebrating inclusion and diversity within the sport.
● A number of players use rainbow colored pride tape on their sticks during the pregame warm-up.
○ Auctioned off by the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.
○ Proceeds benefited “You Can Play” which is an advocacy organization that promotes safety and inclusion for all who
participate in sports including LGBTQ athletes, coaches and fans.
● Other initiatives within this event included:
○ The Penguins, The Delta Foundation and local businesses partnered to provide roughly 150 free tickets to local LGBTQ
youth for the game from 13 area High Schools.
○ Members of Pittsburgh Blind Hockey will play during the second intermission.
○ The PPG Paints Arena exterior sign above the Highmark Gate will be lit in rainbow colors.
○ There will be photo opportunities with a large puck wrapped in Pride tape next to the oversized stick on the mezzanine of
the FedEx Level, above the Highmark Gate entrance.
○ Themed Pride merchandise, including t-shirts, hats and pucks, will be for sale at the PensGear store inside PPG Paints
Arena.
