Exercise 1 : Let’s read and answer

Once upon a time, the state of

Kelantan was ruled by a female ruler. Her

name was Cik Siti Wan Kembang. Her father

passed away when she was only four years

old. At the age of 30, she became the ruler

of Kelantan.

Cik Siti Wan Kembang is a legendary figure for her beauty, courage,

and wisdom. She made sure the land under her control was always safe

from enemies. She was respected as a warrior princess. She was brave to

enter battles on a horseback with an army of female horse riders. Though

admired by many for her beauty, she never got married.

Exercise 1 : Read the story below.

Cik Siti Wan Kembang’s favourite animal was the deer.


She was presented with a dear which later became a symbol
of the state emblem. At that time, the gold coins were stamped
with the image of a deer too.
According to the legend, Cik Siti Wan Kembang never
Died but ‘disappeared’ into the mystical world. This is because no one has found her
tomb till today. However, she will always be remembered for being the only female
who ruled a state in our country.

Exercise 1 : Read the story below.

Lake Chini also known as ‘Tasik Chini’ is located in


Pahang. It consists of twelve lakes which are not only famous
for their natural beauty but also for the mysteries that surround
them. The first legend is that an enormous snake was
transformed into a dragon called Naga Seri Gumum. There is
also a story of an ancient city that some remains of the old city can still be
found at the bottom of the lake.
