Specifically, there are seven tribes namely, Bukidnon, Higaunon, Matigsalug, Manobo, Talaandig, Tigwahanun and Umayamnun. •These tribes headed by each “Datus” OBJECTIVES 1.To identify who are the Talaandig people. 2.To determine what are their livelihoods. 3.To clarify if they still paying a land taxes. DISCUSSION • The Talaandig are known to be dwellers of the steep places. The people of the slopes (andig). • According to Talamdan (2011), the Talaandig are one of the indigenous groups in the province of Bukidnon, who has continued to preserve and promote its indigenous customs, beliefs, and practices despite the strong influx of modernization and change. This group is found in barangays and municipalities surrounding the mountain of Kitanglad, specifically in the towns of Lantapan and Talakag. • According to Datu Jhonny Guina, 53 years old. Born on February 25, 1966 at La Roxas, Pangantucan Bukidnon, their source of income or livelihoods are by planting crops like sugarcane, corn, vegetable, coffee, onion, pepper, tomato, taro, gardening and many more. These crops are can be found in front of their houses or yards. These crops are their source of food in their daily needs. They used to plant because of crisis that the need to support their children’s need especially this children are going to school.
