LET OFF MECHANISM

 To maintain the necessary tension upon the warp.

 To unwind and deliver the required amount of warp sheet from
the warp beam with the simultaneous and continuously to take
up motion.
 The warp should be supplied in lengths that exactly
correspond with those drawn away by the taking up roller.
 To provide the warp and filling space during weaving.
PARTS OF POSITIVE LET OFF MOTION

 Warp beam
 Feeler
 Back rest
 Spring
 Ratchet
 Driving rod
 Reciprocating collar
 Large beam wheel
 Adjusting rod
CLASSIFICATION OF LET OFF MECHANISM

 Positive let off motion

 Semi positive let off motion
 Negative let off motion
POSITIVE LET OFF MOTION

 In the positive let-off motion, the warp beam is positively

driven through a gear drive.
 Only in this let-off motion, warp tension and delivery of warp
are controlled uniformly from the full beam stage to the empty
beam stage during the weaving process.
POSITIVE LET OFF MOTION
WORKING

 The drive starts from sley sward, as it moves forward the

driving rod contacts the key and movable collar causes the
ratchet pawl turns the ratchet wheel.
 The motion of the ratchet wheel is transmitted to the beam
wheel through the worm and worm gear.
 As the beam diameter decreases the feeler lowers a key
between fixed and movable collars on the ratchet rod.
 As the result, that the amount of lost movement is reduced and
hence greater ratchet movement.
CONTD

 If the warp tension is increased above the normal, the

backrest will be depressed to a greater extent.
 The ratchet rod takes the movable collar nearer to the fixed
collar on the driving rod, causes greater angular movement of
ratchet wheel and beam.
 So the high tension in warp is compensated for and released.
 In a similar manner, a decrease in warp tension causes the
whole assembly to move back and reduce the amount of let-
off.
