PRESENT KEY ACTIVITIES

 Intelligent Pigging (ILI) of Bakhrabad-Siddhirganj

High Pressure Gas Transmission Pipeline.
 Routine Operation and Maintenance of Cathodic
Protection System of GTCL High Pressure Gas
Transmission Pipelines (Part A, B, C) .
COMPLETED ACTIVITIES
 Installation of Permanent Cathodic Protection (CP) system
for Chattogram-Feni-Bakhrabad (36” OD, 181 Km Long)
Parallel High Pressure Gas Transmission Pipeline.
 Installation of Permanent Cathodic Protection (CP) system
for Maheshkhali-Anowara (42” OD, 79 Km Long) Parallel
High Pressure Gas Transmission Pipeline.
 On-Stream Cleaning Pigging of Hatikumrul-Bheramara (30”
OD, 84 Km) and Bakhrabad-Siddhirganj (30” OD, 60 Km)
High Pressure Gas Transmission Pipeline.
FUTURE PLAN AND ACTIVITIES
 To plan and perform detailed Cathodic Protection Survey
(CIPS, DCVG, CAT etc.) for the complete evaluation and
effectiveness of CP System in GTCL Pipelines (as required).
 To plan, estimate and procure rehabilitation and
development works required on existing cathodic
protection system of GTCL pipelines.
 To plan, design, estimate and procure Permanent CP
System Installation work after completion of pipeline
construction under ongoing pipeline projects of GTCL. [e.g
Bogura-Rangpur-Sayedpur Pipeline Project]
CP SYSTEM SURVEY
Types of Survey Required:
1.Coating Survey (CIPS/DCVG/CAT)
CIPS = Close Interval Potential Survey
DCVG = Direct Current Voltage Gradient Survey
CAT = Current Attenuation Survey
2.Coating conductance survey at CP Stations & midway
between CP stations
3.Casing and Carrier short surveys
4.AC/DC Interference Testing
Requirements
•To determine adequacy and effectiveness of Cathodic
Protection System on buried metallic Pipeline structures.
•Locating/Identifying any potential corrosion areas.
•To determine casing insulation status.
•Locating/Identifying Interference (AC/DC) problems.
•Determining any other corrosion related conditions
requiring remedial measures.
•Comprehensive Cathodic Protection related Training for the
CP Personnel.
• Manpower
