ABSTRACT
• 3D Printing technology is sometimes referred to as Additive Manufacturing.
In 3D Printing, one creates a design of an object using software, and the 3D
printer creates the object by adding layer upon layer of material until the shape
of the object is formed.
• SOLID OF 3D PRINTER:
• 3D Printers are used to convert the 3D designs that a person can do with a help
of the computer into a real object. To attain this, they use liquid plastic (or
other materials) rather of the link to which we are habituated, which after the
impression solidifies and made the object. These are usually big machines that
can cost approximately five thousand dollars, but technological progress is
taking them available to the general public easily.
• The main theme of this project is to learn and understand the 3D Printing
technology ( Additive Manufacturing ) where we are developing this structure
through reducing cost and used to convert virtual models to real solid models.

4
INTRODUCTION
• 3D printing is a form of additive manufacturing technology where a three dimensional
object is created by laying down successive layers of material. It is also known as rapid
prototyping, is a mechanized method whereby 3D objects are quickly made on a
reasonably sized machine connected to a computer containing blueprints for the object.

• This revolutionary method for creating 3D models with the use of inkjet technology
saves time and cost by eliminating the need to design; print and glue together separate
model parts.
• The basic principles include materials cartridges, flexibility of output, and translation of
code into a visible pattern.

5
OBJECTIVES
• To manufacture 3D Printers are machines that produce physical 3D models from digital
data by printing layer by layer. It can make physical models of objects either designed
with a CAD program or scanned with a 3D Scanner.

• It is used in a variety of industries including jewelry, footwear, industrial design,

architecture, engineering and construction, automotive, aerospace, dental and medical
industries, education and consumer products.
• To know more about this innovation
• Introduce to the public
• Discover benefits

PROCEDURE FOR ANALYSIS
A variety of processes, equipment, and materials are used in the
production of a three-dimensional object via additive
manufacturing. ... Some of the different types of physical
transformations which are used in 3D printing include melt
extrusion, light polymerization, continuous liquid interface
production and sintering.

7
DIFFERENT METHODS:
• Selective laser sintering (SLS)
• Stereo lithography
• Fused deposition modeling (FDM)
• Laminated object manufacturing

8
FUSED DEPOSITION MODELLING:
• Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing
technolgy commonly used for modeling, prototyping, and
production applications.

10
• As anticipated, this modern technology has smoothed the path for numerous new
possibilities in various fields. The list below details the advantages of 3D printing
in certain fields.
1. Product formation is currently the main use of 3D printing technology. These
machines allow designers and engineers to test out ideas for dimensional products
cheaply before committing to expensive tooling and manufacturing processes.
2. In Medical Field, Surgeons are using 3d printing machines to print body parts for
reference before complex surgeries. Other machines are used to construct bone
grafts for patients who have suffered traumatic injuries. Looking further in the
future, research is underway as scientists are working on creating replacement
organs.
3. Architects need to create mockups of their designs. 3D printing allows them to
come up with these mockups in a short period of time and with a higher degree of
accuracy.
4. 3D printing allows artists to create objects that would be incredibly difficult, costly,
or time intensive using traditional processes.

REVIEW OF LITERATURE
• Another widely explored area is finding alternative materials or developing new
materials as feed in FFF based 3D printers. Developing 3D printed parts for
application in medical industry like – prosthetic development, tissue engineering,
dental parts, etc., is also on focus of many researchers. Development of extruder
system and nozzle has been also explored by many of them. Although most used
solid based 3D printers are FFF based printers.

SOFTWARE USED

• MATLAB SIMULINK 2017b.
