SUMMARY:
The above case can be summarised as follows:
The public limited company was running into losses since they sticked to the outdated way of
working in spite of having the best resources the company still didn’t prosper. One reason why
the company saw a downfall was the director who functioned in a dictatorial way instead of
taking the management and staff into confidence. This led to an “Yes man” attitude to the top
level management destroying their own initiative, talent and enthusiasm.

To set things in place the new director decided to get advice. Accordingly he went into the depth
of the functionality of the company to achieve the goals resolved by the advisors. The new
director experimented the advises, gave necessary powers to Divisional manager and his
recommendations were considered. The new director told the the Divisional manager. He
informed him about his goal to make a profit of rupees 15 lacks from his division. Since the
Divisional manager and his team worked with enthusiasm and and the fear of disappointment
vanished. Production and profit was their main aim. It took few years for the company to make
profits and get things back into place. Since the division started giving more results and the
company is finally doing better, the new director is now thinking of introducing the same system
to the other divisions as it satisfied the working needs and solved the problem.
