Pre-operative antibiotic administration


Pre-operative dose timing: The optimal time for
administration of preoperative doses is within 60 minutes
before surgical incision

Duration of prophylaxis: recommendations for a shortened


postoperative course of antimicrobials involving a single dose
or continuation for less than 24 hours are provided
