Smooth ER Plasmadesmata
Parts and Function

Plasmadesmata
Smooth ER
The main function of the smooth
Smooth ER is to make cellular products like
Endoplastic hormones and lipids. It also
Reticulom distributes those products
throughout the cell and to places
in the organism. The smooth ER
also regulates and releases calcium
ions and processes toxins.

Plasmadesmata
Plasmodesmata (PD) are membrane-
lined channels that transverse the
plant cell wall and function as
conduits to allow the exchange of
various cellular molecules between
plant cells
Chloroplast Tylakoid Membrane
Parts and Function

Chloropast
Chloroplast
A chloroplast is an organelle within
Thylakoid Membrane the cells of plants and certain algae
that is the site of photosynthesis,
which is the process by which energy
from the Sun is converted into
chemical energy for growth.

Tylakoid Membrane
Thylakoids are the internal
membranes of chloroplasts and
cyanobacteria, and provide the
platform for the light reactions of
photosynthesis.
Starch Grain Mitochondrion
Parts and Function

Starch Grain
Starch grains are tiny structures made
by most plants as products of
Starch Grain photosynthesis. Essentially, a starch
grain is a well-packed storehouse of
glucose sugar units. Many plants store
starch grains in underground organs
Mitochondrion such as roots, bulbs, tubers, and
rhizomes, as well as their seeds and
stems.

Mitochondrion
itochondria are membrane-bound
cell organelles (mitochondrion,
singular) that generate most of the
chemical energy needed to power
the cell's biochemical reactions.
Chemical energy produced by the
mitochondria is stored in a small
molecule called adenosine
triphosphate (ATP).
Plasma Membrane Peroxisome
Parts and Function

Plasma Membrane
Plasma Membrane
The plasma membrane, or the cell
membrane, provides protection for a
cell. It also provides a fixed
environment inside the cell, and that
membrane has several different
functions. One is to transport
nutrients into the cell and also to
transport toxic substances out of the
Peroxisome
cell.

Peroxisome
Peroxisomes are small vesicles, single
membrane-bound organelles found
in the eukaryotic cells. They contain
digestive enzymes for breaking down
toxic materials in the cell and
oxidative enzymes for metabolic
activity.
Golgi Vehicles Cytoplasm
Parts and Function

Golgi Vehicles
They are the small sacs that
developed from tubules. They
recieve protiens and lipids from the
RER, package them into vesicles and
deliver them to where they are
needed in the cell.

Cytoplasm

Cytoplasm
Golgi
Vehicles Provides a medium for organelles to
remain suspended.
Acts as a buffer that protects the
genetic material and the organelles
from damage.
