 Utterance meaning
Related to both grammar and context
which is the meaning behind an action of
uttering something that have the speakers’
or hearers’ intention and other aspects of
context.
Sender’s meaning
The sentence means what the speakers or
writers intended it to say. This meaning often
includes conversational implicatures. Also
known as intentional meaning.

Formal Semantics
Is about the meaning of syntactically
complex expressions with grammatical
analysis. It is used to describe how
different meaning of expressions are
constructed.
 Ostensive Denotation
It is an act of pointing in which Refers to the literal meaning of a word,
performed by pointing at the more or less like dictionary’s meaning. It’s
denotation or part of the denotation also called as conceptual, logical, or
of a word. cognitive meaning. E.g: the noun arms
