PART-1
Introduction: Hydraulic machines in which the liquid acts as medium of transmission of power or pressure based
on
The principle of hydrostatics and hydraulics.
Hydraulic Press: It is a device by which we can lift load by the application of a comparatively much smaller force.
A hydraulic press in its simplest form consists of two cylinders, one larger and one smaller , connected to a
chamber containing come of liquid . The larger cylinder contains a ram and the smaller one a plunger .
MATHEMATICAL DERIVATION
HYDRAULIC ACCUMULATOR
It is a device to store pressure energy , which may be supplied to a machine later on. A hydraulic accumulator , in
Its simplest form , consists of vertical cylinder containing a sliding ram The sliding ram is loaded with weight .
When the water under pressure enter the accumulator cylinder through the inlet valve ,it lift loaded ram until the
cylinder is full of water . At this stage , the accumulator has stored it maximum amount of energy , which is also
known as capacity of the accumulator.
Let
A=Area of cylinder
H=lift of the cylinder
P= Intensity of water pressure supplied by the accumulator
Thus the capacity of accumulator=PAH

HYDRAULIC INTENSIFIER
It is device to increase the intensity of pressure of water , by means of energy available from a larger quantity of
water at a low pressure. A hydraulic intensifier , in its simplest form consists of fixed ram through which the
water ,Under pressure ,flows to the machine. A hollow sliding ram is mounted on this fixed ram externally on this
fixed ram ,which contains water under high pressure. This sliding ram ensured in a fixed cylinder which contains
water under low pressure from the supply.

HYDRAULIC CRANE
Types of Hydraulic cranes:
 Telescopic cranes
 Mobile crane
 Truck crane
 Tower crane
 Rough Terrain crane
 Overhead crane
HYDRAULIC CRANE
A hydraulic crane is a type of heavy-duty equipment used for lifting and hoisting. Unlike smaller cranes, which
rely on electric or diesel-powered motors, hydraulic cranes include an internal hydraulic system that allows
the crane to lift heavier loads.
