    GRAMMAR

    SUBJECT AND VERB AGREEMENT

    ▪ S + V s/es + …
    ▪ He, She, It + V s/es
    ▪ I, you, they, we + V

    ▪ S + to be + adj / occupation / …
    ▪ He, she, it (singular) + is + teacher / beautiful/ sad/ patient, dll
    ▪ I + am + teacher / beautiful/ sad/ patient, dll
    ▪ You, they, we (plural) + are + teacher / beautiful/ sad/ patient, dll
    PASSIVE VOICE

    ▪ S + to be (is, am, are, were, was) + V3


    Contoh
    The apple is eaten by me.

    Is, am, are = present (dilakukan sehari”, atau kebiasaan)


    Were, was = past (lampau) (yesterday, last month, last…, ago..)
    The apple was eaten by me yesterday.
    PRESENT PARTICIPLE

    ▪ Cek dulu apakah sudah ada verb / to be di dalam soal


    ▪ Jika sudah ada, tugas kalian adalah mencari present participle (V+ing)
    Contoh :
    The woman working here is from Perth
    Karna sudah ada is sebagai to be, maka mencari present participle = working
    CARA MEMBEDAKAN PRESENT PARTICIPLE DAN
    PAST PARTICIPLE

    ▪ Jika kalimatnya adalah kalimat pasif (menggunakan awalan di / ter, misal


    dimakan, dibuang, diminum, terjual) = past participle (V3) / V + ed =
    showed, listed, arranged
    ▪ Jika kalimatnya adalah kalimat aktif (menggunakan awalan me, missal
    memakan, membaca, menulis,) = present participle (Ving)
    Compound Sentence

    ▪ Gabungan dari dua kalimat


    ▪ Menggunakan connector
    FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but,
    or, yet, so)
    DEGREE COMPARISON
    ▪ Adj + er ( 1 syllable)
    ▪ More + adj + than (lebih dari 1 syllable)
    ▪ The most + adj (lebih dari 1 syllable dan digunakan dari banyak objek)

    Contoh
    - Shorter
    - More beautiful than
    - The most beautiful girl in the world.
    PARALLEL COMPARISON

    - The more + adj, the more + adj…..


    - Adj + er, adj + er…
    - The more + adj, adj+er…

    - The more diligent the student, the smarter he is (Parallel)


    - Sinta is more diligent than Rudi (Degree Comparison)

    In parallel comparison, there is no “the most”
