Definition
A numeral system is a writing system for expressing numbers; that is, a
mathematical notation for representing numbers of a given set, using digits
or other symbols in a consistent manner.

Natural Numbers
Natural numbers are all positive numbers like 1, 2, 3, 4, and so on. They
are the numbers you usually count and they start from 1 and continue till
infinity.

A natural number can be used to express the size of a finite set.

A natural number is closed under addition and multiplication.

Pythagoras and Archimedes found natural numbers.

It's symbol is (N).

Whole Numbers
Whole numbers are a set of numbers including all natural numbers and 0.

Properties in whole numbers:-

Closure Property.
Commutative Property of Addition and Multiplication.
Associative Property of Addition and Multiplication.
Distributive Property of multiplication over addition.

 The largest whole number will be infinity and the smallest is 0.

 It's symbol is (W).

Bob Sincular discovered whole numbers.

Integers
An integer is a whole number that can be positive, negative, or zero.

The letter (Z) is the symbol used to represent integers.

The smallest integer is zero and biggest is Infinity .

Formulas for integers are:-

(+) + (+) = +.
(-) + (-) = -.
(+) + (-) = +.
(+) + (-) = -.

Rational Numbers
Rational number is a number that can be represented as the quotient p/q of two integers such
that q ≠ 0.
Properties of Rational Numbers:-
Closure Property.
Commutative Property.
Associative Property.
Distributive Property.
Identity Property.
Inverse Property.
It's symbol is (Q).

 Infinity is not a rational number because it is undefined as far as being an integer.

Pythagoras discovered rational numbers.

Irrational Numbers

Any real number that cannot be written in fraction form is an irrational number.

It's symbol is (P).

Properties of irrational numbers are:-

Commutative property.

Distributive property.

Associative property.

Distributive property.

An irrational number has endless non-repeating digits to the right of the decimal point.

Hippasus discovered Irrational Number s
Real Numbers
Real numbers are numbers that include both rational and irrational numbers.

Properties of Real Numbers are

The Closure Property.
The Commutative Property.
The Associative Property.
The Distributive Property.

Positive or negative, large or small, whole numbers, fractions or decimal numbers are all Real
Numbers. They are called "Real Numbers" because they are not Imaginary Numbers.

It's symbol is (R).

Richard Dedekind discovered Rational Numbers
