The eiffel tower
Located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most well known structures in the world.The
Eiffel Tower was originally built as the entrance arch for the World's Fair in 1889.It is named after Gustave Eiffel, whose
company was in charge of the project.

The Eiffel Tower was built for the World Exhibition in 1889, held in celebration of the French Revolution in 1789.The
construction was only meant to last for the duration of the Exposition, but it still stands today.

In 2004, the tower’s first floor was converted into an ice skating rink. It has also been the site of the world’s largest
advertisement at the time. The Eiffel Tower is painted every 7 years, using an estimated 60 tons of paint. It takes between 15 and
18 months to paint the entire structure.  
Arc de Triomphe
Although the Eiffel Tower is the symbol of Paris, the Arc de Triomphe is also as
important. It has a rich history and an impactful story

The Arc de Triomphe stands 162 ft tall, 150 ft wide, and 72 ft deep.

The entirety of the Arc de Triomphe is made from a sedimentary rock called
limestone. As a product of thousands of years of weathering, limestone comes from
the oceans
The visitors can walk around the base and under the arches of the Arc for free. If
the want to, they can climb the 284 stairs of the Arc de Triomphe and have a great
view of Paris for an admission fee of $15 per person.

The Sacre-Coeur comes rights after, because it was built on top of
the Montmartre hill, at a height of 130 meters. Both the dome and
the bell tower is 91 meters tall. So, the total height of the Sacre-Coeur
is of 213 meters above the sea level
Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel
The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel is a triumphal
arch in Paris, located in the Place du Carrousel. It
is an example of Neoclassical architecture in the
Corinthian order. It was built between 1806 and
1808 to commemorate Napoleon's military
victories of the previous year.
Notre-Dame Cathedral 
On the evening of 15th April 2019, a large fire partially destroyed the upper part of 
Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. The fire caused serious damage, but thanks to the 400
firefighters at the scene, the famous monument was able to be partly saved. Reconstruction is still
underway (although it is still shut to the public), so in the meantime, feast your eyes on these
fascinating facts about Notre Dame Cathedral…

After climbing the 422 steps of the towers of Notre-Dame Cathedral, you’ll see one of the
best panoramic views of Paris. But, if you look very closely from the ground, you will spot
that one tower is slightly higher than the other. This is because the towers were built at
different times.
