I SUED THE SCHOOL SYSTEM !!!

• It is a fact that the majority of the schools

are following a traditional way of teaching as
we could evidence in the video, there is not a
big change comparing a current class with
one carried out 150 years ago. This is making
students feel disinterest and indifference to
the different sessions, they got that used to
this way of getting the knowledge that they
closed themselves to new strategies or
methodologies applied by teachers who are
willing to create a good environment for both,
teacher and students.
 Another very important aspect
to highlight is the use of
standardized tests to evaluate
INSIGHT 2 the performance of the students
in a class. From my outlook, I
believe this is not the best way
to do it since students would be
categorized according to a
grade that does not define the
skills and capabilities they could
have, instead, these kind of
grades could take them
downwards regarding their
interest in a subject.
 Last and not least, this video made me
realize that most of schools are
getting students ready to be slaves of
INSIGHT 3
a factory since they take 8 hours of
classes during a day with a short
break to eat and continue studying.
Schools and teachers should prepare
students to face real life situations as
well as a great variety of fields in
which students will have to perform
during their lives. We all have to work
together to reach out the dream we
are willing to live not just for us as
teachers, but also to let students be
free, critical and creative during their
school period.
