AN ORDER RE-ORGANIZING THE LOCAL TOURISM

DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL OF PADADA, DAVAO DEL SUR
WHEREAS, the Municipality of Padada recognizes the important role of culture and arts in
shaping the Municipality’s History;
 
WHEREAS, history and culture are essential dimensions of human existence because in
every group or nation, there is an ever increasing number of men and women who have
become artisans and authors of the culture of their own community;
 
WHEREAS, the Municipality of Padada which was formally organized in July 15, 1949 by
virtue of Executive Order #236 of the late President Elpidio R. Quirino, has grown into what
it is now by way of combined sense of autonomy and responsibility of the early settlers;
 
WHEREAS, such cultural development for 71 years needs to be sustained and be enriched as
it clearly contributes to the progress of Padada through talents, insights and values of the
Padadaoeños;
 
WHEREAS, the preservation and enrichment of Padada’s cultural heritage can be achieved
through collaboration effort of all stakeholders;
 
WHEREAS, under Book III. Title 2. Chapter 2. Article 3, Section 447-XVII of the Local
Government Code of 1991, the Local Chief Executive shall establish a Municipal Council
whose purpose is the promotion of culture and arts;
 
NOW THEREFORE, I PEDRO F. CAMINERO, JR. by virtue of the authority vested in me by
the law as the Local Chief Executive of the Municipality of Padada, do hereby order the
following:
Section 1. Composition- The Municipal Tourism Development Council shall be
composed of the following:

Section 2. Functions and Duties of the Municipal Tourism Development Council. The
Council shall have the following duties and functions:
•Formulate a strategic plan or a framework plan to development and enhance the tourism
potentials and tourism industry in the Municipality of Padada;
•Coordinate every tourism events and programs in the community;
•Formulate programs and recommendations to develop local tourism facilities and attraction
tapping local and outside resources and funds;
•Assist in the regulation and supervision of tourism-oriented establishments thereby ensuring
wholesome and clean tourism activities;
•Assist in monitoring the implementation of the Local Government Code particularly on the
matter of licensing of tourism establishment in the locality in order to ensure a safe and enjoyable
stay of the tourists and travelers.

Section 3. Funding. The budgetary requirements for the conduct of activities and delivery of
outputs shall be sourced from the General Fund.

Section 4. Meeting and Quorum. The council shall meet at least once every quarter or as often
as may be necessary. A majority of the members of the council shall constitute a quorum but the
Chairman or Vice Chairman shall be present during meetings.

Section 5. Effectivity. This executive order shall take effect immediately
