ORNAMENTS
The Philippines has one of the most diverse
and rich cultures because of its many island
provinces and foreign influences such as
Spanish, American, Maly and Chinese to
name a few name. 
JEWELRY
- Jewelry making in the
Philippines has been practiced
since the 16th century and is
believed to had been influenced
by the Chinese.
JEWERLY
- The quality and designs come
in intricate forms with mostly
curvy lines and geometric
shapes.
TATTOO ART 
- The art of Tattooing has been existent in the
country long before the Spaniards came. 

- This practices has been part of many


indigenous groups whose beliefs is that these
tattoos possess spiritual powers that ward off
evil spirits. 
Whang-od Oggay is known as the
last mambabatok (Kalinga tattooist) from the
tribe of Butbut in Buscalan, Kalinga. She has
been tattooing for the past 80 years —
including head hunters of the indigenous
tribe, at the beginning of her long career.
• BASKETRY
-Basketry in the country is an
integral part of the lives of the
indigenous communities. Baskets
are made in different sizes and
shapes depending on their needs. 
PANGASINAN
- Bolinao mats from
BURI leaves. 
BURI LEAVES
The largest native palm species found in
the Philippines, with trunks attaining a
diameter of 1 meter, height of 20 meters,
and with large fan-shaped leaves from
which buri braids and raffia are made.

ABACA PLANTS
The abaca plant is closely related to and
resembles the banana plant (Musa
sapientum). ... Each stalk is about 5 cm (2
inches) in diameter and produces about 12 to 25
leaves with overlapping leaf stalks, or petioles,
sheathing the plant stalk to form an herbaceous
(nonwoody) false trunk about 30 to 40 cm in
diameter.

- Puts careful attention to

- Objects that are needed for
a certain purpose.

- May be used to describe an
object or human that naturally
exists in a particular place.
CRAFTSMAN
- Avery skilled worker who makes
functional objects for trade
