• Warm-up questions like,
1. what is a verb?
2. How do you identify a verb?
3. Have you ever thought of types of verbs etc.

Why?
define a verb.
I get up early in the morning. I go to washroom immediately.
After having shower, I come back to bedroom, change my cloth,
set my hairstyle and then I take two minutes to brush my teeth,
standing in front of a mirror. After then, I take my bag and
necessary things for classes and move to dinning hall.
Sometimes I do have breakfast and other times, I abandon it
because of oily food being served usually at the dining table.
Finally, I walk to the parking, pick up my bicycle and ride to
faculty of Arts, AMU.

• Asking them to write all verbs in chronological


order: one-word verb, two-word verb…
• Asking them to cut the difficult verbs like ‘do
have’
• Explaining the idea of finite, non-finite and
phrasal verbs.
• Asking them to do the exercise in order to
check if they have got the sense of verbs.
Underline all the verbs given in the texts and isolate it according to

Q2-Find out non-finite verbs in the given passage and write down on notebook

Having taken food, he came to faculty and he was talking to his friend standing at
the gate. Looking at them a person came to them and ask them not to stand in
between the narrow passage of the gate.

GroupWork- Ask your friend to speak on a topic, put a diary and pen. Try to find
out the verbs he uses and write it down.
