GENERALIZATION:
• The Hindu-Arabic numeration
system is a base 10 system. It uses
place value such as ones, tens,
hundreds, thousands, ten
thousands, hundred thousands,
millions, ten millions, hundred
millions and so on.
• The value of each digit
in a number depends
on its position or
place.
• Ten ones are replaced by
one ten, ten tens are
replaced by one hundred;
ten hundreds are replaced
by one thousand; and so on
• You can also write
numbers in
expanded form
