CHAPTER III

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
This chapter clearly discussed the research methods used to conduct the study.

Research Design/Methodology

Descriptive research design was employed in this study. This study is also
associated with survey questionnaire to determine the effectiveness of CCTV
Cameras Installation on Crime Prevention, a checklist for the usefulness of CCTV
Cameras in crimes against property and persons, and checklist on the effectiveness of
CCTV Cameras on crime prevention.

Sources of Data

From the population of different Barangays of Delfin Albano, Isabela, the

researchers selected 40 respondents ( 30 residents and 10 Police Officers) for the
study.

Data Gathering Instrument

The main tool of the study was the set of prepared questionnaires guide. These
were prepared by the researchers with the assistant of Mrs. Engracia R. Fiesta
together with their research adviser. The draft of the questionnaire where checked and
edited several times until final draft was concluded.

A validation face was observed by the researcher to check the validity of the
research questions. The respondents were ask to answer the questionnaires that the
researchers provided given the assurance that their identifications were kept
confidential and the information gathered were just use for educational purposes.

Data Gathering Procedure

Before the conduct of the study with the identified respondents the researcher
asked permission from School Principal and Research Teacher allowing the
researchers to pursue the study and to distribute the questionnaires through formal
letter. The researchers asked permission from the Barangay Captains in allowing the
researchers to personally administer the survey questionnaires to the target
respondents. Afterward, the information gathered was recorderd, evaluated, and
interpreted accordingly.

Statistical Tool
Descriptive statistics using mean to determine the usefulness of CCTV
Cameras in crimes against property and persons, and the effectiveness of CCTV
Cameras on crime prevention and Likert scale are used in this study.
