Mixed Methods Research (Concurrent)
 What is a Mixed Methods Research (Concurrent)?

 In a concurrent mixed-methods study approach,

quantitative and qualitative data are gathered almost
simultaneously. Since one type of data does not inform
the gathering of the other type of data, the quantitative
and qualitative data collecting are independent of one
another.
 What is a Mixed Methods Research (Concurrent)?

Both qualitative and quantitative data are gathered at the same period of the
concurrent design. The data might be gathered from the same individuals or similar
target audiences because the main goal of this strategy is to comprehend the
phenomena under research more thoroughly.
 Purpose of Mixed Methods Research
(Concurrent)?

As the name implies, concurrent mixed methods

research methodologies collect qualitative and
quantitative data concurrently or in tandem. This
approach entails conducting a single research that
simultaneously collects qualitative and quantitative
data.
 Uses of Mixed Methods Research (Concurrent)?

Concurrent triangulation designs are used to characterize connections

between variables of interest more precisely by combining qualitative
and quantitative data. Combining data sets can help with issue
comprehension and produce more thorough proof, giving the
investigator both depth and breadth.
 Importance of Mixed Methods Research
(Concurrent)?

Because it incorporates both quantitative and

qualitative data in a single study, mixed-methods
research has grown in popularity because it allows for
more robust inferences than either methodology
alone.
 Requisites of Mixed Methods Research
(Concurrent)?

Using the triangulation approach, the validity and reliability of study

data will be evaluated. The triangulation data gathering method aims
to achieve precision in measurement between two points, for which
you need a trustworthy measurement method. That the investigator's
position, triangulation, and audit trial are three strategies that may
be used to guarantee the dependability of the outcomes.
 Mechanics of Application of Mixed Methods
Research (Concurrent)?

The collection of both quantitative and qualitative data

occurs nearly at the same time in a concurrent mixed-
methods study design. As a result, the collecting of
qualitative and quantitative data is independent of one
another, and neither type of data influences the other.
 Limitations of Mixed Methods Research
(Concurrent)

The combination of qualitative and quantitative methodologies in a sequential temporal order has
been a prevalent restriction throughout mixed methods research, preventing the integration of
both data types under a single process of data analysis (Bryman, 2007).
One drawback is that it could be harder to execute. It could take more
knowledge than utilizing just one approach to gather, analyze, and interpret
data. Combining various approaches necessitates more time and financial
resources.
 Illustrations/Examples of Mixed Methods
Research (Concurrent)

User research that includes both qualitative and quantitative

techniques is known as mixed methods research. Mixed Methods
Research is being used by businesses like Spotify, Airbnb, and Lyft to
combine detailed customer insights with useful data to provide deeper
user insights.
