Media
The word media comes from the Latin word “Medius”
which means middle, furnishings or introduction. Media is
one of the tools used by teachers to make it easier to
convey a learning process to students with the aim of
making the delivery of material from the teacher to
students more interesting and of course making students

Media display is a tool used to show examples of student work in the
form of pictures, cards, posters, and small 3- dimensional objects or
other learning materials.
The purpose of making display surfaces is as a forum to explain
information as well as to encourage student interest in school work.
1. The Advantages of display learning media are : cheap price, easy to move, learning is more
interesting, easy to manufacture, and easy to understand by students.
2. The Disadvantages of display learning media are : it requires a focus on a certain
experience, for audio media that displays digit and analog symbols can only be understood
properly for those who already have the ability to think abstractly.
The Types of Display Media
1. Chalkboards is a flat, vertical writing surface
on which anything can be inscribed by means of
a piece of chalk.

2. Copy Boards are dry erase boards made


specifically to save your dry erase marker notes.
Typically these boards would scan your notes and
then save an image to your computer or print a
hardcopy of your notes.

3. Pegboards is a useful place to display heavy,


three-dimensional, material and visual objects.
4. Bulletin Boards is a board that serves to inform
students about events, important announcements with
clear content and context.

5. Magnetic Boards are used as a


commercially available stand. To
support visual movement easier and
faster than cloth planks.
