People as Media and People in Media


 People – human beings making up a Learning – the activity or process of
group or assembly or linked by a gaining knowledge or skill by
common interest studying, practicing, being taught, or
 Media – a medium of cultivation, experiencing something : the activity

 People Media – an assembly of Interaction – mutual or reciprocal

Definitions
People in Media – they are the people behind another
form of media. They use other forms of media such as text

People as Media – they are the MEDIA itself. The person

 Idea Generators – example are authors, writers
 Speakers – active people media such as journalists
newscasters, politicians
 Users – especially in the internet where content is
highly user-generated, everyone is a user

Types
In every step of the development of technology and other types of
media, people media was present, they made the existence of all
types of media possible. They were the transmitters of information,
they were the information sources, before all of the other media was
made available. We, the people media, created every type of media
(from text to multimedia and manipulative, etc.) - and we created
them for a reason, to destroy barriers and have a wider reach, to
impart information in an easier and faster way.

Importance
 Tech Savvy – proficient in the use of technology
-practical understanding or knowledge of something
 Credible – able to be believed, capable of being believed;
plausible, worthy of confidence; reliable.
 Flexible – knows how to use a range of technology; able to change or to
do different things
 Charismatic – appeals to the senses of different people
 Updated – in the know of the latest information
 Articulate – expressing oneself easily in clear and effective language

Characteristics
1. They are prone to be
misinterpreted and to misinterpret
data that they are transferring (i.e.
words that have already been said
cannot be taken back).
