SCIENTIFIC NOTATION

A convenient way of expressing very large or

very small numbers in terms of a number
between 1 and 10 multiplied with powers of 10.

The number expressed is such that there is only

1 non-zero digit before the decimal point.
Only significant digits should be retained when
expressing in scientific notation.
