Stages of Psychological Development
STAGES DESCRIPTION
Stage 1: Infancy Babies on their basic need on adult such as
food, care and comfort. If the adult meet
( Trust vs. Mistrust these needs, it develop a sense of trust and

Stage 2: Toddler Start to gain independence and learning


skill such as toilet training, feeding and
(Autonomy vs. Shame and Doubt) dressing themselves.
Ages 1 to 3 yrs. old

Stage 3: Pre-Schooler They must learn to control their actuation


in a socially responsible way. If they can do
(Initiative vs. Guilt) this effectively, children become more self

Stage 4: Grade Schooler They compete with peers in school and


prepare to take on adult roles. This stage is
(Identity vs. Inferiority) in a sense of competence or a sense of

members of society through parenting or
(Generativity vs. Stagnation through their jobs.

contentment or disappointment.

Adolescents are more emotional and
this makes them open to being hurt or
in danger.
Adolescents boy are also sexually
active; therefore, they are prone to
participate in risky behavior.
