Introduction
•The Child Safety Car Alert System is designed to assist the
drivers or parents in detecting the presence of a child in vehicle.
•It
provides an alert or notification if any child is left behind
unknowingly in the vehicle.
•Once the vehicle is turned off,the temperature inside the car
increases rapidly, which may lead to hyperthermia condition or
heartstroke in the child.
•To avoid such tragic incidents this safety system is the most
efficient one.
•It even notifies the surrounding people with buzzer.
•With the development in the field of automation this can be
easily implemented.
Existing System
•We have an existing system where parents and drivers are
educated about the importance of child safety.
•Itcreates the awareness that child should not left behind in a
parked car.
•It is dependant on the human consciousness.

Disadvantages of Existing System:

•There is a chance of neglection.
•Forgetting may also lead to severe damage.
•Highly dependant on human consciousness.
•Not an automated process.
Proposed System:
•The propsed system can be mainly diveded into two parts:
1.Safety Panel
2.Alert Panel
•Safety panel consists of PIR Sensor,Sound Sensor and Ventilator
fan.
•Alert panel consists of Buzzer/Led and GSM Module.
•The other devices are signal conditioning
circuit,transformer,microcontroller,driver circuit,LCD and
MAX232 circuit.
•Transformer is used to supply the power to the whole circuit.
•Signal conditioning circuit is used for taking output from both PIR
sensor and Sound sensor when their status is active and give it as
input to microcontroller
•Microcontrolleris the heart of the system. It gives input to
MAX232,Driver circuit and LCD.It is dumped with the Embedded
C code written with the help of Keil C Compiler.
•MAX232 is a voltage driving IC which ensures the smooth
functioning of GSM module.
Proposed System:
•In
GSM Module sim is inserted which alerts the contact
numbers mentioned in the sim.
•Drivercircuit is a voltage rectifier which takes 5V input from
microcontroller and gives 12V input to Ventilator fan.
•LCD is used to display the status of both sensors.
•Buzzer is used to alert the surrounding people.
•PIR sensor is used to capture the motion of the child in the car.
•Sound sensor is used to capture the crying sound frequency of
the child.
•Ventilator fan based on the input from driver circuit rotates and
provides necessary oxygen levels and comforts the child until
status of either of sensor becomes inactive
Advantages of Proposed System over
Existing System:
•Automated Process without any Human Intervention
•More accurate than existing system.
•Less time consumption
Hardware Requirements:
•Microcontroller

•Sound Sensors
•PIR Sensors
•GSM Module
•Relays

•ULN 2003A IC
•Motors

•LCD

Software Requirements:
•Embedded C
•Keil C Compiler
Block Diagram
Advantages:
•More efficient as process is automated.
•Provides alert with more accuracy.
•Less time consumption in execution and alerting parents or
driver.
•Even surrounding people can rescue the child as buzzer
starts ringing without waiting until parents reach the car.

Disadvantages:
•When PIR sensor and Sound sensor capture a adult
movement or sound it notifies the contact numbers as child
detected.
•When car is parked in deserted areas the child will be in
danger until parents or drivers arrive.
Applications:
•Prevents the hyperthermia condition or heartstroke
condition in child due to excessive temperature inside the
car.
•Used to remind parents about their child.
•Prevents the human negligence in child safety.
•Used to generate better child safety awareness and adopt
necessary precautions.
Conclusion:
•We have developed a system which detects the child
presence persistently and is much more efficient than the
existing system.
•The risk in child safety is reduced to the maximum extent.
•Automobile industries can implement this system while
manufacturing cars.
•The developed system can be used to promote the child
safety awareness.
•Itcan be improved further if it indicates the presence of
child and adult separately.
•And even when parked in deserted areas the nearby Police
Stations and Ambulance Services should be alerted.
