Introduction

 The internship was carried out at Syngenta as a business development intern in


karad region the guidance of Mr. Umesh Sarpare sir(TM)
 Syngenta is a global company that produces agrochemicals and seeds and is based in
Switzerland.
 It operates more than 190+ country in world
 Our purpose, 'Bringing plant potential to life'
 Our Values, represent what we stand for as a company.

 In india Syngenta India Pvt Ltd started its working from 2000s
The ingredients are calaris xtra are Mesotrione 2.5% +
Atrazine 25%
Objectives
•To generate potential demand of calaris xtra
•To study overall acreage of crops in karad tahsil
•To aware farmers about advantage of calaris extra
•To study the marketing strategy of Calaris xtra
•To Estimate the Market Share ofCalaris xtra of
syngenta
Research Methodology

 Research Design: Descriptive Research and statistical Research

 Location of the Study:- The present study is purposely undertaken in karad tehsil of
satara district as per the suggestion of the company.

 Methods of the Sampling:- The sampling method was used for project were both
random sampling with an object to study on the demand generation of calaris xtra and
farmers were selected randomly.
 Sample size:- 100 Farmers out of 10 villages (10 farmer/village) In that, farmers
are selected randomly. The individual based survey is carried out to decide the
calaris xtra users.

Methods of data collection:-


1. Primary Data collection:- I have used questionnaire to collect primary data for
this project.
2. Secondary Data collection:- In addition to primary, secondary data is going
to collect from company’s website, Leaflets, farmers, Retailers etc

 What are the Crops you takes up in the Farm?
 On which crops, calaris xtra has been used in your farm?
 In what proportion do you use the calaris xtra on various
crops?
 What is the result of calaris xtra after use?
 What is your Opinion of Syngenta Products?
 Like calaris xtra, What are the other similar products do you
use?
Findings
 In karad Tahsil, potential use of calaris xtra is 30 %.

 In karad Tahsil, sugarcane is most cultivated crop which is 75%

 calaris xtra is the only herbicide available in the market having these
Ingredient.

 Major sources of the information are field demonstration is 33%


and company personnel is 33%

 As per feedback from Retailer, many farmers use herbicide in whole


year.
 Field Demos and farm visit are the important factors for increasing
Sales and awareness among the farmer.

 Campaigning , Farmers meeting, Live Demos etc. are the promoting


strategy of Syngenta for marketing of products, is driving factor
behind capturing the market share than the competitors.

 In karad tahsil most of the farmers are using calaris xtra for sugarcane
crop.
Conclusion
 The farmer from study area are well aware about calaris xtra..

 Field Demonstration and Company Personal are major source of calaris xtra

 The Farmers and Retailers are well aware of calaris xtra, market share of calaris xtra
is high as stated by retailer as compare to other company.

 Most of the companies have different Promotional activities such as


Farm Visit , farmers meetings etc. to increase sale of herbicide .
