COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS(CFD)
>It is the branch of Fluid Mechanics which uses
numerical methods to analyze and solve fluid flow
and heat transfer problems.
>Fluid flow problems are formulated using governing
equations(GE) which are purely based on physical
problems.
>CFD made possible by the advance of high-speed
computers and accurate algorithms(programs).

Aerodynamics
>Flow of air -High pressure to Low pressure.

>Venturi Effect -High Velocity leads to low pressure.

>Newton’s third law –Every action has equal and opposite reaction.

>Aerodynamics concepts-
1.DRAG – Resists the vehicle motion.
2.LIFT – Pushes the vehicle upwards.
3.THRUST – Pushes the vehicle forward.
4.DOWNFORCE – Pushes the vehicle downwards.

S-Duct
>It is the duct carved in the front
of the body which looks like
an S in side view

>S duct take some of the air from

the bottom of the car and
channels in through to
the top side of the car.
