National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC

An organization composed of graduates of the Civic


Welfare Training Service (CWTS) and Literacy Training
Service (LTS) components of the National Service
Training Program (NSTP) as mandated by Republic Act
9163 (NSTP Act of 2001).
NSRC (Filipino:Panlaáng Hukbo ng Pambansang Paglilingkod)
NSRC Reservist
-A person who is graduate of the
CWTS and LTS components of the
NTSP program and designated an
NSRC serial number.

The NSRC units are classified into two categories:


1. School-Based NSRC Reservists Units
(SBNRUs)
These units are organized by higher
education institutions under CHED and
technical-vocational education and
training institutions under TESDA. Its
membership is composed of graduates of
the CWTS and LTS who are still happen
to be enrolled in the said schools.
Functions of NSRC (School Based)

1. Help in organizing the list of NSTP


graduates to be submitted to the National
Directorate Office under (DND), CHED
and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction
and Management Council(MDRRMC) up
to the Barangay Development Councils
(BDCs)
2. Assist in Emergency Rescue procedures inside the
school that might need their assistance.
3. Serves as Marshalls or Honor guards during school activities.

4. Help in maintaining peace and order in the School.


5. Planning of different activities that can be done regarding
Environment protection and Disaster Risk Reduction
Programs.
6. Assist NSTP Instructors in conducting training for Rescue
procedures and other activities related to Personal Security up
to National Security.
2. Community-based NSRC Reservist Units (CBNRUs)
These are units organized at the barangay,
municipal, city and provincial level. Graduates of
the CWTS and LTS components of NSTP who are
residents of these respective localities constitute the
membership of the CBNRUs.

Functions of NSRC (Community Based)

1. To assist in the disaster preparedness, mitigation,


response and rehabilitation programs;
2. To serve as an auxiliary to the Disaster Risk Reduction
and Management Councils (DRRMCs) response
units;
3. To assist in the promotion of civic welfare activities;
4. To assist in the implementation of literacy
programs;
5. To assist in socio-economic development;
6. To respond in case of mobilization for national
emergency;
7. To assist in environmental protection; and to
perform other similar endeavors.
What is mobilization in NSRC?

Mobilization - refers to the official act of


calling upon NSRC reservists and NSRC units
to report to their respective designated
mobilization centers and organized to perform
duty as disaster responders and other DRRM
tasks.
What are the necessary training needed
by NSRC reservists?
Reservists who volunteered to be part of the activity
had a total of 32-hour hands-on training and
practice which included hazard management during
disasters, treating wounds and burns, recognizing
and controlling bleeding, immobilizing fractures,
moving and lifting victims and other basic lifesaving
skills.
