The persons in the life boat shall be protected for 8 min’ on the oil fire when waterborne. 4.4.7.6.1 Check that the reset lever on each hook is horizontal and in contact with its stop, Check that the release handle is in the closed (locked) position and safety pin is installed. 4.4.7.6.2 The mechanism shall have two release capabilities as follows: 4.4.7.6.2.1 Normal (Offload release) Capable of release when the boat is on waterborne or when it’s no load on the hook and not require manual separation of the lifting ring of shackle from the jaw of the hook . 4.4.7.6.2.2 On-load release Capable of release when it’s a load on the hook.
