4.4.7.3 Check that the Life line or hand holds provided around the out side of the boat above the water line except rudder and propeller.
4.4.7.4 If the boat is not self righting type, the hand holds shall be provided on under side to enable persons to cling to the boat.
4.4.9 Check The marking signed at the lifeboat :
1. Approved Number of persons (markings on the forward each side)

4. Boat No. and IMO No. or Call sign (on the top side)

4.9.1 Check Fire protected life boats
Self contained air support system shall be provided.
The persons in the life boat shall be protected for 8 min’ on the oil fire when waterborne.
4.4.7.6.1
Check that the reset lever on each hook is horizontal and in contact with its stop, Check that the release handle is in the closed
(locked) position and safety pin is installed.
4.4.7.6.2
The mechanism shall have two release capabilities as follows:
4.4.7.6.2.1 Normal (Offload release)
Capable of release when the boat is on waterborne or when it’s no load on the hook and not require manual separation of the lifting ring
of shackle from the jaw of the hook .
4.4.7.6.2.2 On-load release
Capable of release when it’s a load on the hook. (before waterborne) The release system shall be protected against accidental or premature
use. ( the ship constructed on or after July 1st 1998 shall provide interlock system)
