PREDISPOSING

Are the conditions and activities that can lead to the development of
disease within a living organism.
PRECIPITATING

Issues or events that have caused the young person to present with or
experience these problems or symptoms at this time.
PERPETUATING

Any conditions in the family, community, patient, or larger systems that


exacerbate rather than solve the problem.
PROTECTIVE FACTORS

Environmental characteristics, conditions, or behaviors that reduce the


effects of stressful life events.
