OPERATING SYSTEM

• A modern data center houses an organization's data

systems in a well-protected physical and storage
infrastructure along with servers, storage subsystems,
networking switches, routers, firewalls, cabling and
physical racks.
• A data center is a facility that centralizes an
organization's shared IT operations and equipment for
the purposes of storing, processing, and disseminating
data and applications. Because they house an
organization's most critical and proprietary assets, data
centers are vital to the continuity of daily operations.
COMPONENTS OF DATA
CENTRE

• SERVER
• FIREWALL AND ROUTER
• NETWORK SWITCHS
• ANTIVIRUS
• CCTV BACKUP
• VIDEO CONFERENCE
SERVER
• A server is a computer program or device
that provides a service to another computer
program and its user, also known as the
client. In a data center, the physical
computer that a server program runs on is
also frequently referred to as a server.
• The function of a computer server is to store,
retrieve and send or "serve" files and data to
other computers on its network.
FIREWALL AND ROUTER

• A firewall is a layer of security between your

office network and the Internet. Since a
router is the main connection from a office
network to the Internet, the firewall function
is merged into this device. Every office
network should have a firewall to protect its
privacy.
• Routers are usually connected to at least two
networks; a firewall operates from a
designated computer, separate from the
network, to deter incoming requests from
reaching private network resources
NETWORK SWITCHES

• A network switch connects devices (such as

computers, printers, wireless access points)
in a network to each other, and allows them
to 'talk' by exchanging data packets.
Switches can be hardware devices that
manage physical networks, as well as
software-based virtual devices.
• a network switch can connect multiple
devices and networks to expand the LAN, a
router will allow you to share a single IP
address among multiple network devices
ANTIVIRUS
• Antivirus software is a type of program
designed and developed to protect computers
from malware like viruses, computer worms,
spyware, botnets, rootkits, keyloggers and such.
Antivirus programs function to scan, detect and
remove viruses from your computer
•  Even if you're smart with how you use your
computer to avoid coming into contact with a
virus, antivirus software is an essential part of a
good security strategy.
CCTV BACKUP
A network video server's job is to convert
analog signals from CCTV cameras into a
digital and IP-based video stream that can be
transmitted over an IP network. IP video
servers have software that allows users to link
to their cameras using a normal web browser
such as Internet Explorer.
VIDEO CONFERENCE

• Video conferencing is a technology that

allows users in different locations to hold
real-time face-to-face meetings, often at
little to no cost.
• There are many ways to utilize video
conferencing technology, such as company
meetings, job training sessions, or
addressing board members.
INTERNET SERVICE
PROVIDER
• An Internet service provider (ISP) is a
company that provides web access to both
businesses and consumers.
• ISPs may also provide other services such
as email services, domain registration, web
hosting, and browser services.
• An ISP is considered to be an information
service provider, storage service provider,
Internet network service provider (INSP),
or a mix of all of them.
IP ADDRESS

• An IP address, or Internet Protocol address, is a series of numbers

that identifies any device on a network. Computers use IP addresses
to communicate with each other both over the internet as well as on
other networks.
There are mainly two types of IP addresses:
• Public IP – This IP will provide ISP only.
• Private IP – We can assign internally.
Public IP Addresses
• A public IP address is an address where one primary address is associated
with your whole network. In this type of IP address, each of the connected
devices has the same IP address.
• This type of public IP address is provided to your router by your ISP.
• IP add Example : 114.125.50.101
Private IP Addresses
• A private IP address is a unique IP number assigned to every device that
connects to your home internet network, which includes devices like
computers, tablets, smartphones, which is used in your household.
• It also likely includes all types of Bluetooth devices you use, like printers
or printers, smart devices like TV, etc.
• IP add Example : 192.168.1.100
CABLES
• Data cabling is essential for businesses because it enables them to transmit data
between different devices and systems. Without data cabling, your business would be
unable to communicate with computers, printers, phone systems, and other devices.
There are two types of cables:
• OFC Cables: Optical fiber cables (OFC) are now preferred over old copper telecom
cables as they provide high-speed broadband services. It is used for Computer
Networking, Surgery and Dentistry, Automotive Industry, Telephone, etc.
• UTP Cables: Unshielded twisted pair (UTP) is a ubiquitous type of copper cabling
used in telephone wiring and local area networks (LANs). It is used for Category 1
UTP cable is most often used in the Telephone network. The most common UTP
connector is RJ45.
