TENSE

◦ Tenses play a crucial role in the English language. It denotes the time an action takes
place, whether sometime in the past, in the present or will take some time in the future
Types of Tense
1. Present Tense
2. Past Tense
3. Future Tense
Present Tense
Present Tense depicts an action that happens in the present .
Types of Present Tense
There are 4 types of present tense according to state(continuousness or completeness) of action :-

1. Simple present Tense/ Future Indefinite Tense


2. Present Continuous Tense
3. Present Perfect Tense
4. Present Perfect Continuous Tense
Simple Future Tense
The Simple Future Tense denotes an action that will take place in the future. It expresses facts
and certainty.

Syntax:- Subject + will/shall + V1 + Object


Affirmative sentence

Example:-
He will play ludo online.
The uncle will come home tomorrow.
Negative sentence
Example:-
Ankita will not study at home.
Ashutosh will not speak in class.
Interrogative sentence
Example:-
Will you work on important projects next month ?
Will you come tomorrow ?
Negative interrogative sentence
Example:-
will krishan not cooking food ?
will you not go to school ?
Continuous Future Tense

The Future Continuous Tense depicts an action that is likely to happen in the future
and continue for an expected length of time.

Syntax:- Subject + will/shall be + V1+ ing + Object


Affirmative sentence

Example:-
you will be staying.
Ekta will be coming to the meeting .
Negative sentence
Example:-
I will not be writing articles on different topics.
Ashutosh will not speak in class.
Interrogative sentence

Example:-
Will you work on important projects next month ?
Will you come tomorrow ?
Negative interrogative sentence
Example:-
will krishan not cooking food ?
will you not go to school ?
Future Perfect Tense

The Future Continuous Tense depicts an action that is likely to happen in the future
and continue for an expected length of time.

Syntax:- Subject + will/shall + have + V3 + Object

Example:-
