INTRODUCTION:

• Fleece is very comfortable due to its light weight and anti-perspiration

qualities, and allows moisture to evaporate, while blocking humidity from
the outside.

• It is breathable and fast-drying, which makes it perfect for winter

sportswear.

• 3 different raw materials are chosen such as Bamboo yarn, polyester and
bamboo blend and polyester filament .

• Fleece fabrics are used in sports wear often for tracksuits, hoodies and zip
tops.
OBJECTIVES

• To design and develop (winter) sports wear using fleece fabric .

• To develop 3 thread single jersey fleece fabric.

• To make the sportswear more breathable and absorbent.

• To make the sport wear functional for both Autumn/winter and spring/summer seasons.

LITERATURE BACKGROUND:

• The more amorphous region constitutes of their fiber material attract water molecules. Therefore
the yarns have the ability to absorb water and get rid of it very fast. This is very important
property for sports wear garments.
• To improve the durability of the weak bamboo yarn inside the knitted fabric three thread fleece
structure is recommended.

• To get no sweat accumulation and more comfortable feelings for sport wears, under wears and
medical wears, 3-Thread fleece fabric having regenerated yarns for the face and fleecy is
recommended.
• 3- Thread Fleece Structure improves the durability of the weak Bamboo yarn inside the fabric.

CURRENT STAGE OF PROJECT EXECUTION

All the 3 yarns (100% Bamboo, polyester , Bamboo polyester Blend) have been sourced and

given for knitting at AGASTHYA KNIT FAB , Arul Puram ,Tirupur.

The knitted fabric has been collected and tested for air permeability, moisture management
and bursting strength.

And the results are attached.

TESTINGS TO BE DONE :

• Wicking Test.

• Moisture Management test.

• Thermal Test.

• Air Permeability Test.

• Bursting.
