Chisinau is connected by railways and roads with all municipalities, cities and district centers and many villages in the
republic, as well as with urban centers in Romania, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Turkey, Belarus, Russia and other states. From an
administrative point of view, it is divided into five sectors: Centru, Botanica, Buiucani, Râscani and Ciocana. The local
body of state power is the City Hall of the municipality (Municipal Council).
Initially, the Hâncu monastery, dedicated to the Blessed Parascheva, was
founded as a hermitage of nuns, with a priest. Following the Tatar invasion in
Moldova, the church and related buildings were set on fire and destroyed,
thereby completely ruining the hermitage.
The Măzărache Church is a place of worship and an architectural monument of national
significance, included in the Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments in Chisinau.
Today it belongs to the Old Style Orthodox Community. It dates from the era of Moldovan
rule and is the oldest building in Chisinau (1752).
The Republic of Moldova is among the countries with the most picturesque places.
