SCOPE OF WORK

• The purpose of this work statement for

application of paint is to outline and describe in
detail the safe procedure of painting including
other related activities such as layout,
delivery/handling, process of application and
other related works to complete the scope.

 **PRIOR TO START PAINTING ACTIVITY**

- All workers must undergo work activity training (WAT)

prior to mobilization Secure permits prior to painting works
- Secure material transmittal form per delivery

- Ensure all workers must follow with the rules and

regulation against covid-19

• Maintain containers in good condition
• Remove away any unnecessary items or
chemicals that could cause contamination

hauling of materials

Preparation of Area

•Clean the area, remove all materials that

create hindrances.
EXECUTION •Prepare the area using chalk line (pitik)
or steel bar to locate concave walls, wavy
corners and bulging of walls
•Apply putty (skimcoat/boral) for surface
preparation and to cover hollow or
cracked areas and fix alignments

STEPS TO APPLY PUTTY

•Scrap off old surfaces, if the wall is “basal”

•Putty mixing, can use tools such as electric
EXECUTION mixer, mix ratio is 2:1 (putty : water) , mixed
for at least 10-15 minutes until a uniform paste
is formed.
•Putty can also be mixed by manual handling
(depends on the painter desired mixture)

STEPS TO APPLY PUTTY

•Apply first coat of putty. The right way to apply putty

is to spread it uniformly in an upward direction.
WORK •Once done applying the putty on the surface area it
EXECUTION will begin to dry. If multiple coats application, make
sure to adhere to the 2mm thickness restriction.
•Make sure that the first coat of putty has dried
completely before moving on to apply the next one.
•Sanding the loose particles. (use of sand paper #100 -
#180)
•And then, final coat of putty for preparation of primer
application

Application of Primer
WORK • Apply primer to the surface area
EXECUTION • Inspect the area to check if there still issues
to fix on walls and ceiling (wavy surfaces or
misalignment on corners) if so, fix it by going
back to step 2,3, 4 & 5. Then apply primer
after fixing the specific area.
• Repeat steps until ready for application of 1st
coat mixed paint

Application of 1st Coat Mixed Paint

• After completely drying the primer, apply 1st coat

WORK mixed paint (2 pail gloss & 1 pail flat latex with
EXECUTION acry-color) to match the color of final paint finish
(Virtouso)
• Inspect the area to check if there still issues to fix
on walls and ceiling (wavy surfaces or
misalignment on corners) if so, fix it by going back
to step 2,3, 4 & 5. Then apply thin primer after
fixing the specific area.
• Repeat steps until ready for application of 1st coat
topcoat or final coat.

Application of Final Coating

WORK • After inspection or area checking, if the

EXECUTION area is acceptable for client, apply 1st coat
of topcoat or final coating, for a better
texture and glossy finish
• Inspect the area if all is done and ready
for final inspection, then apply the second
and third coat of topcoat or final coat for
finishing.
CLEANING
At the end of each work, remove
rubbish, empty cans, rags and
other discarded materials from
project site. Clean the area
before and after activity
After completing paint
application, clean spattered
surfaces. Remove spattered
paints by washing, scrapping, or
other methods. Do not scratch
or damage adjacent finished
surfaces.

Protect other work of other

trades against damage from
paint application. Correct
damage work of other trades by
cleaning, repairing, and
refinishing, as approved by
Architect and leave in an
undamaged condition.
At a completion of
construction activities of
other trades, touch up and
restore damaged or defaced
painted surfaces,

Use of appropriate and complete

while inside the site premises,
such as eye protection (goggles),
